Ballet BC presented an evening of Vancouver-based choreographers in a program of four works – three world premieres and the return of Crystal Pite’s beautiful piece, Solo Echo.  The company showed great command of the contemporary vocabulary in works that proved their aptitude and challenged their range for theatricality.

Works performed were:

Anthem – Lisa Gelley & Josh Martin, co-artistic directors of Company 605.

Swan – Wen Wei Wang

If I Were 2 – Lesley Telford

Solo Echo – Crystal Pite

*Correction to podcast: Lesley Telford did not dance with Ballet BC.  After finishing her studies in Montreal at L’´École Supérieur de Danse du Québec, she danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, then went on to dance with Nacho Duato’s Compañia Nacional de Danza and Netherlands Dans Theater 1.
